Caisse d’Epargne extends its commitment to the FFHB for 4 more years after 10 years of partnership
Ten Years of Partnership, Commitment, and Victories
Caisse d’Epargne is inseparable from French handball. For the past ten years, the cooperative bank has been supporting the French Handball Federation (FFHandball). This partnership is built on shared values: like FFHandball, Caisse d’Epargne is deeply rooted in its local communities, emphasizing inclusivity, diversity, and fostering a sense of togetherness.
Throughout this decade, Caisse d’Epargne has celebrated numerous achievements alongside the twelve French national teams (senior and youth) under FFHandball. Over the past ten years, the senior teams have secured more than 17 international medals, including two Olympic titles (women and men in 2020), four World Championship titles (2017 and 2023 for the women; 2015 and 2017 for the men), and two European Championship titles (2018 for the women and 2024 for the men). Additionally, the regional branches of Caisse d’Epargne have supported several individual international players in their pursuit of excellence, as well as various regional clubs.
A Key Player in Handball for Everyone
Caisse d’Epargne’s involvement in handball is amplified through its 15 regional branches across mainland France and the overseas territories. True to its commitments in sports, consolidated under the Pacte Utile, its support for handball is expressed locally through three key dimensions: Supporting elite athletes through the French national teams, contributing to local communities by fostering the development of handball facilities, benefiting society by promoting and supporting amateur handball for all.
Expanding Handball Participation and Focusing on Youth
Over the next four years, Caisse d’Epargne aims to continue its commitments while embarking on a new phase of its partnership by:
Supporting local clubs in developing amateur handball: Each year, 45 clubs will receive game equipment, benefiting over 1,000 players, both youth and adults, regardless of their skill level. This initiative is designed to help participants thrive and enjoy the game.
Promoting handball in local communities: Caisse d’Epargne will become the Title Partner of the departmental, regional, and national French Cup finals. This event will highlight all aspects of handball and its various pathways.
Encouraging the development of women’s sports: Supporting and advancing women’s handball remains a key priority.
Recognizing exemplary clubs: Special awards will be given to clubs that excel in promoting handball to a broader audience during the annual Handball Trophies ceremony.
Creating activities for families and young people to share memorable experiences during French national team matches.
Continuing to support the development of sports infrastructure in local communities as part of its commitment as the "bank of sports.
We are proud to support Caisse d’Epargne and the French Handball Federation in this new chapter, and we are confident that the next four years will open a new era of success

Jacques-Olivier HURBAL, Director of Development at Caisse d’Epargne: “We are proud and delighted to extend our commitment to the French Handball Federation (FFHandball) for four more years, supporting the entire ecosystem, from elite athletes to amateur clubs. At Caisse d’Epargne, we are dedicated to being a lasting and daily source of support for our clients and local communities. This philosophy also guides our commitments in sports. By renewing our partnership for four additional seasons, we reaffirm our dedication to the values of teamwork, community, diversity, and inclusion that we share with everyone involved in handball. This renewal will also give us the opportunity to implement new initiatives aimed at young people, helping them thrive both on and off the court.”
Philippe BANA, President of FFHandball: “The French Handball Federation (FFHandball) is very proud to continue this journey with a partner of Caisse d’Epargne’s caliber. Their unwavering presence by our side since 2015 has helped us grow, and the extension of this commitment will enable us to further develop our activities across the regions, organize major competitions, and shine a spotlight on our sport and athletes. With Caisse d’Epargne, we are like brothers and sisters. We share the same values, face similar challenges, and when we connect, it feels like we’re living the same life. There is a deep bond and genuine friendship between us, making this alliance—more than just a partnership—a valuable asset for all our members. The message we want to convey with this renewal is: let’s get even closer to people and communities. Be together. Together, we are stronger.”
Xavier ODDONE, Managing Director of SPORTFIVE France: “This renewal perfectly illustrates the strength of a partnership built on shared values. We are proud to support Caisse d’Epargne and the French Handball Federation in this new chapter, and we are confident that the next four years will open a new era of success, benefiting all stakeholders in handball and the passionate communities that bring this sport to life.”
We are delighted to be part of the renewal of this wonderful partnership, which has already lasted 10 years, and to see this alliance continue its story.
